First Visit With Cassidy

We headed to Lockport this weekend for my nephew Collin's Grad party and a performance that Gabby was singing in. 

It was our first chance to stop at Heather & Andy's to see our new granddaughter, 

Cassidy Joy

She is about 6 days old :) here.

Here is one proud grandpa!

It was hard to take our eyes off this little miracle.

You forget how small newborns are.

So, now we have 2 precious grand kids.

Heather is doing wonderful!

Benny enjoyed his sibling present. 

He's going to wonder where all the gifts are next July when Cassidy turns one.

She was born Saturday morning at 3:59 7lbs 7oz 20 in. long

What a beautiful family!

Keuka Lake

We rented a cottage on Keuka Lake (one of the finger lakes in NY)

School ended June 21 we started our stay the 22nd.

The biggest reason for the early summer vacation was that

Heather is due very soon and we wanted her to be able to enjoy a little fun before baby #2.

I took 141 pictures so this rather long blog is not really so bad!

Three bedrooms upstairs, we had 11 sleeping there one night.

It was pretty hot all week but we had camp fires anyway-we ate so many smores

Steve & Nancy came to visit us one afternoon

We had a great week, so much family togetherness!

Happy Father's Day Ken!

We celebrated Ken today by letting him take the family out to dinner...hmmmm?

Also- showered him with thoughtful gifts and sweet treats.

Maybe the favorite was this awesome Corvette book from Chris & Danielle along with handmade card by Danielle

Chocolate covered Oreos of many varieties, including the Father's Day Special (center stage) with 8 double stuffed fillings in a chocolate drizzled cookie.
Danielle's created all these.

We were happy Gabby could join in in the festivities via Skype.

Ken is a wonderful dad & a fabulous husband- we missed being with all the kids & Benny today.

Twin Birthdays- Not Twins

Danielle was born June 14,1990
She came into the world about 10 days early. BTW she is 23 this year.

When we found out Christopher's due date was on her birthday, I assured her...

"babies never come on their due date"
Enter... Christopher
right on time.

Now he (still) says that it's her fault they have to share a birthday because she was born early.
BTW he is 19 this year.
And of course she (still) says it's his fault for being born on her day!

To make matters worse- when they were kids one got a big friend party one year 

and the other got a friend party the next. 

This may sound cruel & unusual- 

but Gabby lived by the same code. Big friend parties every other year.
