Danielle

Danielle is at Health South Geisinger Rehabilitation Hospital.
She has settled in fine and they think she will be there a few weeks.

I had to leave Danielle at the hospital Wednesday evening to head home.
Gabby showed up Thursday morning to accompany her to the Rehab Hospital.

For those of you who have not heard- this is what happened!

On Feburary 1st Danielle was on her way to substitute teach at State College, hit some ice and hit a tree. Airbags deployed, she was able to get out of the car but could not walk. A women stopped and took her to the hospital. Her roommate Derek saw the inside of the car and said the engine was coming through to the passengers side.

She was transferred from the State College Hospital to a trauma center in Danville Pa. She broke her knee cap and her knee had been cut to the bone. She also broke her hip. They would do surgery on the knee as soon as possible. I made it to the hospital in Danville that evening.

They did surgery on her knee Saturday morning. They went in again on Monday to put a screw in and also a plate in her hip. The surgery was about 4 hours and the next day and a half were pretty rough.
Actually every days been a challenge for her
but she has been very brave and is a remarkable young women.

Gabby stayed with her Thursday through Friday. The big stormed moved in on Friday evening so I asked her to stay till Saturday afternoon.
This was such a blessing for me to know she was there with her sister. They made quite an impression on the staff who are used to dealing with the elderly:)

Danielle will be coming home to Massachusetts when they release her. She will have a long road of healing ahead of her but we are thanking God that she came through this and WILL heal.

NEMO

I thought they only named hurricanes! Nemo is a terrible name for a winter storm. It makes me think of warm tropical water and beautiful salt water fish.
Anyway, I couldn't wait to share some of my chilling pictures from this morning :)

By the way, the lump on the left is our van.

We couldn't open the front door but here is a view from the garage.

This is a picture from the garage floor.

Back door of garage

I actually think we got more than this. It came over my knees when I walked through it.

This is the road. Well, it's under there.

Ken and his new snow blower :) We WILL have the cleanest driveway on the block!

I cleaned off the cars and helped with the shovel. I couldn't let him have all the fun.

I love my husband!
