How Far Would You Travel To See Your BFF? Visitor Blog #4, Part 1

Chris and Tim Dombrowski's answer is 4,692 miles!
Yes, They left the murky skies and drizzly chilled temps of Western NY
to come to Sunny Oahu last May.

I know they would have come no matter where we lived!

One of our first adventures was the Dole Plantation.
Chris was so excited to see the very plantation that Elvis worked on
in the movie Blue Hawaii :)

Enjoying the Pineapple Express!

Rainbow Eucalyptus trees

Dining out at La Maria's Sailing Club

Adorable

The view!

We also had to visit King Kamehameha
(Often seen on Hawaii 5 O)

A visit to the North Shore

We went to a monthly food truck gathering called "Eat The Street"
We tried!

Of course we went to a Luau.
The Polynesian Cultural Center is an all day event
culminating with the luau meal and a drama presentation.

We stopped at a scenic area on the way!
Hole in the Rock

As you see, we are all decked out in our Aloha dress.

There were shows and presentations all over the grounds

And crowd participation.
You'll have to ask Tim about this one!

A water parade

Boat rides

The main course- Kahlua Pig

It is buried in the ground and the fire cooks it from above

Visiting a beautiful scenic lookout

And of course a pedicure!

Chris & Tim had adventures of there own while on Oahu as well.
Part 2 of this visitor post will be our trip to the Big Island!

Grandkids In Hawaii, Oh and Parents Too! 2017 Visitors #3, Umm Part 2

I will attempt to finish the Honeckers in Hawaii post but it may be a long one!

Luau Time
You can't go to Hawaii & not enjoy a luau!
Found this little dress at the thrift shop to match Ken's aloha shirt!

Learning to hula

Lots of unusual foods, we packet the kids PBJ's

My favorite part of the night!

We planned a hike to hidden beach (about a mile) to hopefully see a monk seal.
The kids made it about a quarter of a mile, too many trips & the heat got to them.
So we just played in the water!

Inspecting a boo boo

Heather enjoying the scenery

No seals, but fun anyway

It feels like you are in the rain forest when entering this botanical garden.

Ken being uncooperative

Exploring with Grandpa

Someone's tired

Out to eat at La Mariana's Sailing Club

Paradise Cove

Finally saw a monk seal
but he was keeping everyone out of the water until he decided to take a nap!
