New Episode of Hoarders

Today was day 2 of the move. Chris and I made 2 trips in the van- picture above.

Then we made 1 more (2 vehicle) trip with Ken this evening.
No one should have this much stuff!

Moving, Moving, Moving!

It's happening! Yes we are finally moving into a house here in MA.

This past weekend we moved Danielle to State College PA.
Where she will be doing her last semester of student teaching.
The Van, plus carrier and her Kia were loaded.
We drove about 7 hours and with  just a few cat incidents (bodily functions),
and one change of shorts for Danielle, we got there and  carried everything up 2 flights of stairs.

We came home Sunday and started packing our own boxes.
Monday after dinner we took 3 loads, Van & Horton (Rav4) to our new 2 car garage
& started the move.

We will complete things on Sat. if all goes well-
Ken goes out of town Sun. and I start teaching Mon. I guess Chris will have to do all the unpacking:)
I love when life is crazy!!!

Maybe We Do have Jewish Roots!

At Michael and Megans grad party we discovered that my grandmother's maiden name was not actually Cramer- which we have believed for our entire life. Apparently, her father (my great grandfather) went to live with the Cramer family when he was a young boy. His real name was Kisner.

Well, we all got very excited about the prospect of having some Polish blood (especially Ted) but then we also realized that Kisner sounds Jewish. So, naturally we immediately claimed that Jewish heritage!

William and Sarah Kisner from Sullivan Co. PA
Could these people be our ancestors?

The meaning of the name is "one who made or sold boxes" or "made cushions, pillows, and quilts" or "one who dealt in fur"

Oh and the most I can find out on-line (free) is that it's a German sir name, or British, or Russian, oh and yes, I found many Jewish and some polish people named Kisner.

I have said all this to say: I GOT THE JOB!
I will be teaching third grade part-time at a Jewish day school. Lubavitcher Yeshiva Academy
The students have secular studies half of the day and Jewish studies the other half. So, my challenge will be to teach the entire third grade curriculum in half the school day. I am super excited about this opportunity, I believe it's a gift from God!

So, you may think this is all kibbitz and my mishpocheh is really a bunch of goyim. I don't mean to be a yente and spin  a tale about my bubbe. I don't want to kvetsh, so believe my shmaltzy story just a bissel, I'm no smendrik! Oy vey!

Some Temptations Are Too Great

Every night the kitties get treats at brushing time.
Really Marilyn gets brushed, the others just show up for the snacks.
They know where we keep the treats and one evening the bag went missing.

Macie has been spotted several times nosing into the cabinet and has tried to grab the treat bag and make off with it at brushing time so she was the prime suspect!

Maggie was sniffing around the stove and when Danielle looked under - there it was!
Pretty mutilated!

Maggie did find them and after a few minutes was going for the treat cupboard herself!
Ahh new suspect, very incriminating!

We may never know.
Everyone showed up to finish off the bag!

And YES- we moved the treats to a more secure location.

Gabby Home For Her Birthday

This past weekend Gabby came home for her 24th birthday.
I know home is a realative term for us, but it's definitly come to mean- where the family is.
It was so great to be together but we really missed Heather, Andy, Benny, Justin & Katie.

She got in late Friday night so the next day we walked to the Ludlow bakery and bought
(rediculously large) danish for breakfast.
She decided to go through her boxes while we waited for Danielle to get home.
As you can imagine, that took all afternoon.
She was actually looking for something, alas, we never found it!

There was some wig fun and silliness going on.
Like a Gabby look alike endeavor.
Which one is the real Gabby?

Chris entertained us by putting on Gabby's footie pajamas and a long curly wig with a straw hat but would not allow us the capture it on film (so sad)

Even Macie had fun. `

Finished product- compact and organized. Although there must be a few more boxes somewhere around here; we couldn't find them.

We had a weekend full of family game times. Poor Gabby couldn't win a single game until finally the morning she left.

You don't have to win to have fun.
Gabby was labeled T-Rex arms because she needed the board so close :)
New nickname: G-Rex.

Birthday day included: Church, Batman movie, homemade fetticinni with grilled chicken, my famous icecream cake, gifts, and of course more games.
The game of Sorry is quickly becoming a birthday tradition.

The next morning the girls and I made homemade berry scones and played Parcheesie.
We found it in our game box and I nagged everyone till we tried it. I thought Sorry was cut throat, this is 10 times worse.
But, Gabby won her first game of the weekend (on her real birthdat yet)

But, we all know the real reason she came home, to see Marilyn (after a 4 mo. seperation)

Poor kid had to drive 6 hours home on her birthday. We are so glad she came. We miss you Gabby!
