2017, The Year of Visitors! Starting with Bethany

Bethany is my first and maybe only niece to visit.
She came over from Washington State for a little January sunshine.

I really enjoyed showing her around the Island but most of all enjoyed getting to know her better!

We enjoyed an East Shore view from the Makapu'u Lighthouse.

We searched out some turtles at "Lost" beach.

Visited the Arizona Memorial

Enjoyed A little cousin time at Chris's favorite Sushi place.

I took Bethany on my favorite hike to take visitors on.
This hike features two WW2 pillboxes overlooking the coast.

We put Danielle's Worcester sticker up for her in one of the pillboxes.

We tried to catch some beach time right after our hike but, we got poured on.

Another hike we went on was at the North Shore.
This 7 mile round trip hike leads to the Kaen'a Point albatross reserve

There they are!

Just 31/2 miles back now

Pretty sure she's not supposed to be up there!

A highlight was snorkeling at Paradise cove.

I believe we saw whales breaching in the distance as we enjoyed the warm sun.

We made a quick stop at Mermaid Cave

And Bethany submerging into the cave to be a mermaid!

Thank You for coming Bethany, it was so great to spend time with you!
